PMI-APICS Supply Chain & ASQ Methodologies
Description
Please join us for a PMI Monthly Dinner Meeting and to hear from experienced professionals from PM, American Society of Quality and American Production Inventory Control Society and how these methodologies blend together in delivering a process that is acceptable to a respective customer. We also be inviting members of the local ASQ and APICS chapters to join with our fellow PMI-DVC members to hear about this important subject,
ASQ has several Bodies of Knowledge (BoK) for ASQ certification that include Supply Chain Management, such as Six Sigma Black/Green Belt and Quality Manager. Recently ASQ offered a certification for a Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) that "works with an organization's supply chain and suppliers to continuously improve performance of key system components (increase life cycle, reduce scrap, improve repair processes) by implementing process controls and developing quality assurance plans"
APICS Customers are looking for products in hours or days instead of weeks. Today, the “order winner” is how well you run your supply chain. Winning the competition of supply chain vs. supply chain increases market share and customer loyalty. Businesses are focusing on their core competencies and extending some of their processes to other partners who are experts in their fields. There is shift to master the horizontal supply thus leaving the vertical concept in the past.
