Managing Technical and Industrial Projects
Description
Technical and industrial projects such as plant construction, equipment installation, infrastructure upgrades, or process engineering involve high complexity, strict safety requirements, regulatory constraints, and multi-stakeholder coordination. This 21-hour, in-person course equips project managers, engineers, and operations leaders with a robust framework to plan, execute, and control these high-stakes initiatives. Participants learn to manage scope under technical uncertainty, sequence critical path activities, coordinate subcontractors, ensure HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) compliance, handle change orders, and mitigate risks like delays, cost overruns, or quality failures. Through real-world case studies (e.g., factory retrofit, energy system upgrade, production line automation), learners apply practical tools for scheduling (Gantt, PERT, critical chain), risk registers, interface management, and commissioning protocols. The course blends PMI best practices with industry-specific standards (ISO, OSHA, FIDIC) for reliable, safe, and on-time delivery.
